Gulfstream 550

A robust fusion of speed, endurance, and exceptional reach, the Gulfstream G550 is an ultra-long-range business jet that blew away 40 city-pair records during its first five years of operation. Powered by enhanced Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines, the G550 has a range of 6,670 miles and a cruising speed of 561 miles per hour. When it hit the market in 2002, the G550 was the first jet to travel non stop between Tokyo and New York City. The G550 has one of the most advanced flight decks in business aviation. The cockpit is outfitted with four Honeywell DU-1310 EFIS screens and an Enhanced Vision System (EVS) which enables the aircraft to land in low visibility conditions. The G550 cabin is organized into four distinct living areas providing copious comforts for up to 18 passengers, including a spacious lavatory, a wardrobe, and three temperature zones. Advanced communications features include a fax machine, a printer, a wireless local area network, and satellite communications. In 2003, the G550 won the Robert J. Collier Trophy—the aviation industry’s answer to the Super Bowl—in recognition of its revolutionary technological and safety accomplishments.
